Entering through a private, tree-lined drive, the luxuriously-appointed Carriage House is perhaps most admired for its great room/library— a room with dark green walls and a vaulted ceiling, a hidden 65” TV and gas fireplace, a wet bar, and a turntable with a large collection of albums. It’s a warm, cocooning atmosphere. Adjoining it is the glass-doored breezeway with its walnut ping-pong table— a work of art that doubles for dining.

The two-bedroom suites are decorated with the most discerning traveler in mind. Special touches are everywhere, from the curly-willow chandelier designed by a local artist to the cozy reading room in the upstairs tower. Spectacular art and sumptuous fabrics add to the elegance of the space. Everything is beautiful to look at— including the view through the many wide French doors. An acre-sized pond and water garden are steps away, which makes for a perfectly idyllic setting. Savoir beds, antique rugs and furnishings, and three wow-factor baths ensure that your stay will be extraordinary. We will help you arrange for a personal chef, yoga instruction at the farm, a private winery outing, or an exclusive tour of Jefferson’s Monticello to complete your experience.

The Carriage House has a two-night minimum. Please note that it can be rented alone or in conjunction with the Farmhouse, but to ensure our guests’ total privacy, there is only one group booked at Waterperry at a time. The Carriage House is adult only.

All guests of local property management receive exclusive access to Common House during their stay. Common House is a local membership based social club that offers a unique place to work, dine, and engage. There is a co-workspace available during weekdays, a full-service restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as a roof-top terrace with great views of Charlottesville.

Additional note: The pool, pool house, tennis court and pickle ball court are available from 8am-8pm daily. The pool is heated and open from mid-April through October. Should guests wish to use these amenities outside of the listed hours (for dinner or just to linger around the pool), prior owner approval is required. Please inquire with our reservation specialists and local property management will confirm with the homeowner.
